With some 12,000 students, the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR Berlin) is one of Berlin’s larger universities of applied sciences. It is known for its close connection to practice, diverse research, high quality standards and strong international orientation.
The HWR Berlin has several departments. One of them – the Department of Police and Security Management – is responding to increasing security challenges in modern risk societies – and to the growing international demand for qualifications.
The department offers two Bachelor’s and two Master’s degree programmes:
- Higher Police Service (B.A.)
(Career tracks: constabulary, criminal police and business field service) - Security Management (B.A.)
- Public Administration – Police Management (M.A.)
- International Security Management (M.A.) – in english
The degree programmes at the department qualify students for careers in higher or senior police service in Berlin, as well as for security-related activities in companies, agencies, NGOs and aid organisations. Students who decide to study in this field are moving into one of the most important sectors of the future.
