Disaster & Emergency Management

Coventry University was the first UK university to establish courses in disaster management and emergency planning, over 20 years ago. We continue to meet the needs of the profession through an up-to-date suite of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional-development courses, adapting as the sector and the wider world evolve. Our diverse academic team covers the broad spectrum of areas that constitute Disaster & Emergency Management.

Learning by doing

We work with partner agencies across many sectors to develop practical emergency and disaster simulation exercises in our unique Simulation Centre and classrooms. Students can participate in or design emergency exercises, take part in interactive sessions with industry guest speakers and table-top exercises, undertake fieldwork, and be supported to develop their employability and self-marketing skills.
