Officially recognized in August 1991, ISEC Lisboa defines itself as a private higher education and research institution, non-profit, whose institutional mission is to provide scientific, technical, cultural, pedagogical, professional, and human training. As a public utility institution, ISEC Lisboa aims for growth guided by the country’s needs and the objectives it statutorily pursues, thus contributing to the qualified, integrated, and harmonious development of higher education in Portugal.

This mission is primarily achieved through a training project guided by high standards of demand and inspired by ethical and humanist principles, aiming to prepare cultured citizens and competent professionals. The suitability of a training project for quality professional performance largely depends on the integration of scientifically produced knowledge. For this reason, a learning experience marked by intellectual curiosity and a spirit of inquiry constitutes a strategy in our educational project for integrating theoretical and practical knowledge, critical reflection, and lifelong professional development.

The vision of ISEC Lisboa is to be a national and international reference polytechnic institute in higher education, characterized by its strong professional focus and its commitment to applied and collaborative research. This research aims to produce solutions and create value that can be transferred to companies and organizations, thereby promoting the dissemination and transfer of socially useful knowledge.
