About UNIGE

The University of Genoa is one of the most ancient of the large European universities, with about 280 educational paths across its Genoa headquarters and learning centres in Imperia, Savona and La Spezia. Located in a city offering the splendours of its medieval and baroque heritage and Europe’s largest, most productive harbour, UNIGE is one of Italy’s most renowned multidisciplinary public universities, with peaks of excellence in several scientific and technological domains and more than 30,000 students.

Teaching & research

With more than 120 degrees, 45 postgraduate schools, 25 masters and 29 PhDs, UNIGE provides a truly multidisciplinary teaching offer. Research strengths include all domains involving the sea, close connections with one of Europe’s biggest oncological research hospitals, and synergies with the INFN and CNR. A dedicated Strategic Centre on Security, Risk and Vulnerability (srv.unige.it/en) anchors UNIGE’s work in the CONRIS fields.
