Profile of the university

As a University College, AP is more than just a higher education institution. AP is a learning city, an enricher of talent, an amplifier of commitment and a deepener of the students’ world view.

With enthusiastic teachers, progressive content, direct honest orientation and maximum interaction with expertise, AP ensures that every student can fully develop his or her potential.

Our vision:

The time when it was unity versus diversity is over. Diversity is the new unity, differences are the new normal. Our daily playing field is a global one. At AP, cultures, beliefs, customs blend together. The default solution is not a given. The average is not the benchmark. Experience is a starting point, not an ending point.

Our priorities:

AP formulated 5 priorities that highlight the University College’s ambitions for the years to come.

1.Growth of people and organisation
2.Gateway to the world
3.Groundbreaking customised study programmes
4.Expertise and information exchange
5.The professional field as a partner

You follow a practice-oriented 3-year education and qualify as Bachelor of Integrated Safety. You are trained to manage organisations (industry, public, governmental,...) to achieve their goals in safe working with respect for the environment and for the health of all people involved in the activities. During this education you will obtain not only a degree but also 3 important Belgian certificates in integrated safety.
Minor Safety Management You follow a 30 ECTS education with lessons, projects and labs. This runs from the middle of September to the end of January. Projects are to be performed in the working field, with governing and industrial partners. This Minor runs mainly in Dutch.
International Project
This is part of the Minor and runs in English. We invite students from our international partner Universities for a 1.5 week project which runs in an industrial company. You work on a real life problem, and try to formulate a fresh view of it.
